Fat: any of several oily solids or semisolids that are water- insoluble esters of glycerol with fatty acids, and are a chief component of animal adipose tissue and many plant seeds; used in cooking and in the manufacture of soaps and beauty products.
Fatty Acid:
any of a class of aliphatic acids, particularly palmitic, stearic, or oleic acid, consisting of a long hydrocarbon chain lending in a carboxyl group that bonds to glycerol to form a fat.
Febrifuge: combats fever.
Fixative: a material that slows down the rate of evaporation of the more volatile components in a perfume composition.
Fixed Oil: a name given to a vegetable oil obtained from plants, that in comparison to essential oils, are fatty, more dense, and non- volatile, such as sweet almond oil or olive oil.
Fragrance Oil: synthetic imitation of a pure essential oil, not offering the botanical properties found within pure essential oils.
