Vasoconstrictor: an agent that causes narrowing of the blood vessels.
Vasodilator:
an agent that dilates the blood vessels.
Vesicant: causing blistering of the skin.
Volatile: unstable, evaporates easily.
Vulnerary: an agent that helps heal wounds and sores by external application.
Vitamin A: plays a role in vision maintenance. Helps fight against infection, assisting in the body's immune system. Aids bone growth.
Vitamin C: Involved in the release of stress hormones from the adrenal glands. Protects iron and all water-soluble substances from oxidation. Required for the production and maintenance of collagen, a protein substance that forms the base of all connective tissues in the body.
Vitamin D: Promotes normal bone mineralization. Acts as a hormone.
Vitamin E: Acts as an antioxidant, a compound that protects other compounds from attack by highly reactive molecules known as free radicals. Protects white blood cells, a defense of the body against disease.
