Royal Jelly

Royal jelly is produced in the glands of the worker bees & fed to the queen bee during her entire larval period. The Queen bees' long life is attributable to Royal Jelly. After a once in a lifetime mating with a drone bee, the Queen bee would lay about 2,000 eggs a day, drawing her strength & high level of fertility from the food. Worker bees are fed royal jelly only for the first three days of their larval period. Royal jelly's purpose is to stimulate correct development. Royal jelly is a thick, extremely nutritious, milky-white cream. It is one of the most difficult foods to harvest and calls for one of the highest prices because of scarcity, high demand, & recognition of its qualities.

Biochemically, it is quite complex. It is a rich source of fatty acids, simple carbohydrates, & pantothenic acid. It also contains Vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, all of the essential amino acids, niacin, iron, zinc, copper, phosphorus, magnesium, chlorine, sodium, chromium, cobalt, inosital, calcium, silicon, sulfur, & potassium. Acetylcholine, needed to transmit nerve messages from cell to cell, is also present. Too little of this compound lends a person prone to Alzheimer's disease. Gamma globulin, known to stimulate the immune system & ward off infections, is also present in royal jelly. Royal jelly is also rich in nucleic acids, RNA & DNA. Gelatin, another significant component, is a precursor of collagen. Collagen is an anti-aging element that keeps the skin smooth & youthful looking. What royal jelly can do for humans is a controversial matter with exuberant claims. It has been claimed to extend the life span, reinvigorate the body, relieve rheumatoid arthritis pain & inflammation, promote anti-aging, youthful skin.

As with any bee product, beeswax, propolis, honey, royal jelly, pollen, & bee venom may provoke an allergic reaction in a susceptible individual. We recommend you do not use products containing these ingredients if you suffer from asthma or anaphylaxis.
