Our skin is a living, breathing, conscious aspect of ourselves that extends the care it has received to the entire body. As the largest organ of the human body, it is composed of millions of cells that perform many key functions.
Beautiful skin does not come from a bottle filled with vitamins and hormones that smell of artificial fragrance. Nor does it come from chemicals designed to dry acne blemishes, such as tetracycline, Accutane, or benzoyl peroxide. Truly beautiful skin begins with nurturing ourselves, as skin problems often reflect our state of health and well-being. For this reason, healing and nurturing our skin should begin with a self awareness for adequate nutrition, exercise, and rest.
To keep our skin clean on a deep level, whether it is oily or dry, or a combination of the two, it is necessary to daily cleanse, tone, moisturize, and have a high water intake.
Cleansing: Twice a day, using a facial sponge or wash cloth, apply the appropriate facial cleanser for your skin type, to your face and throat. Take about a minute and gently massage, using an upward, circular stroke. Rinse with warm, clean water being sure to remove all the cleansing agent and pat dry. One should never scrub the face! Always be gentle. Hummingbirds Comfrey-Blue Green Algae Luxury Facial Bar works wonders to enrich dry skin types. |
